Five on Friday: New Beauty Buys!

Happy Friday everyone!! Sorry it's been a bit quiet this week. It's been a bit hectic with work life and personal life & honestly, I have had some writer's block. But, I'm here today so that's what matters!!

I thought I'd share some new beauty purchases with you. I had gotten really annoyed with my current foundation and was looking for something new. Well you know what happens when you go in to Ulta or Sephora for, you know, ONE THING...yeahhhhh. Just like Target, y'all. Sucks me in, I black out, and walk out of the store $100 lighter in my wallet. Oops! I digress. Let's get started!

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer
I had actually never worn Clinique foundation but heard good things from a friend of mine who loves make up as much as I do. I loved the idea that it was foundation + concealer. It is a good size bottle and has a wand with applicator on the end. I just dot it around my face and then blend in. I really liked it and it gave good coverage. It has over 20 shades to choose from so everyone should be covered. I currently wear shade "Linen."

It! Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream
This was also recommended to me. I really love it for days where I don't really want to wear foundation, but want to look put together. This also has 50 SPF in it. For me, this is PERFECT for throwing on and walking out to the pool this summer. It comes in a tube with a pump. I am not sure how effective that will be once it gets close to empty but we'll see. One other thing I do not like about it, is the perfume smell. I think it could do with out. It doesn't linger once it's on your face and has set for a bit. I would still repurchase despite those two little things. I am currently wearing shade 'Light.'

Benefit's POREfessional
This is actually not a new product for me. I used it a long time ago and never repurchased. I really like it. It kind of has a waxy feel but does spread beautifully on the skin. It can be worn under your makeup or over the top. I have only ever tried it under my foundation but I may see how it looks or if it's more effective to do the opposite way.

Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Balm
Can you tell I was hanging around the Clinique area at Ulta? Well I have 3 of these colors now and really love them. They go on so well & are SO moisturizing. I have Curvy Candy, Pudgy Peony, and then one from their 'Intense' line which is Plushest Punch. It might be my favorite. One thing I really like is that they do give your lips a little stain so as they wear off, you still have some color remaining. These go on like butter. I have my eye on some more colors too.

Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil
I have been using the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo for over a year now and really like it. However, I wanted to try out an eye brow pencil. I get my brows done at Ulta and asked the girl to recommend an eye pencil. She suggested this one and I really do like it. It has the twist up pencil on one end & then the spooly on the other. It is taking some getting used to just because I have never used a pencil and I don't really like to be heavy handed with my brows. I like a natural yet defined brow. I definitely use these together and think they work well in combo.

I did link up all the products below in the widget if you wish to shop them. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Spring Picks!

Happy Thursday! How's everyone's week been? Has anyone been following all of the shows for Fashion Week? I have seen so many pretty things coming down the runway through snaps & Insta. The first day of spring is right around the corner. March 20th to be exact. I wanted to share some picks for spring that I am loving! A lot of these options below come in some really pretty blush tones that I am just obsessed with!

I decided today that I was going to try and be better about my spending...aka less trips to Target. We're all guilty of the Target trips. It entrances us, I swear. Also, unsubscribing to store emails that are just too tempting. Whenever a season change is near, I feel like everyone's spending goes up. And it is just too easy to spend when so many pretty things are out. We have to stock up right?!

Let me know your spring picks or trends you are loving!!

Thanks for stopping by & reading!

Valentine's Recap

How was everyone's Valentine's Day? We kept our day low key. We went out for cheeseburgers and fries. And it was fantastic!

Our gift to each other this year was a Nespresso. And we have LOVED it. I already have more pods on order. Do any of you have one? Which pods are your favorite? I loved the strongest one that came in the sample pack...Diavolitto.

My mom got her puppy last weekend. He is SO tubby and SO cute! I can't wait to get my hands on him. He loves to bite on his older sister, Lily.

Hope everyone has a great rest of their week!

Date Night Look!

Monday is here again. Is anyone else dragging after the Super Bowl? I definitely ate way too much and may or may not have polished off a whole bottle of Santa Margherita single handedly. #YOLO I didn't make my 5:15 workout this morning but did hit the treadmill at lunch. Gotta get it in!

I wanted to share this outfit from Friday night. I did post it on Instagram, but B snapped a picture at the end of the night and thought it was neat since the skyline was in the background.

My love for black is no secret. I have a lot of it in my closet. But don't think I don't love color every now and again. Black is always just so sleek & polished looking in my opinion. I paired my mostly black outfit with a cream strappy cami from Loft. It's on sale right now and I just picked it up in...you guessed it...BLACK. So hurry!!

The jeans are a steal & are SO COMFY. The jacket is nothing like what I have in my closet. It is light, yet still warm. It gives the edge to an otherwise very feminine outfit I think. I received it in a recent Stitch Fix box. There are so many moto jackets out there right now. I am lusting after this one actually.

The shoes. OH THE SHOES. These are my new obsession. At first, the 4 inch heel was intimidating. Not that I can't walk in them, but was worried if my feet were going to be killing me by the end of the night. Not the case. Snag you a pair if you know what's good for you. Unfortunately, there is limited sizing so you can also shop them here in all colors.

I decided that the outfit needed a pop of color andddd they had just arrived so what's a girl to do?! You can't really see them here, but the color is 'Cerulean.' I finished off my look with my Kelly Wynne "Mingle Mingle Mama" bag. I love love love it. It holds my full size wallet, phone and 5 lipsticks that I just NEED for my night out. HA! Her spring colors are out and OH MY GOSH. I think my color (black & gold python) is only available in store currently. You can check out her flagship store at The Domain if you are local to Austin!

I hope y'all have had a great Monday & thank you for reading!!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

February is such a fun month. All the pink and red. All the candy. And celebrating those you love is always fun. If I lived closer to my favorite girls, we would most definitely be celebrating together (in addition to my husband) because let's be real...I love those crazy ladies to death and they get me through some tough stuff some days.

I thought I'd gather some ideas for you to treat yourself, pass on to your significant other, or maybe ideas for you to purchase for your favorite gal pals! These are all items that I would love to receive. Hint Hint Brian! I've linked all the goodies below so you can shop directly! The heels & earrings are probably tied for #1 on my list. Happy Shopping!

Links & Loves

Happy Groundhog Day! According to Punxsutawney Phil, there are 6 more weeks of winter. I beg to differ for the state of Texas. It has been BEAUTIFUL here the past week or so. Like break out your spring colors, beautiful.

This week I thought I might share some links and loves that I have recently found & thought to be interesting or funny or just loved. Kate over at The Small Things Blog does this and I really like it. It's a great way to find new stuff to read or Instagram profiles to follow.

1. I LOVE birth stories. It has really grown traction in the blog world. I am not a momma yet but this birth story had me on the edge of my seat. This lady is wonder woman in my eyes.

2. These shoes for spring and summer, please! Or now....for Valentine's Day!

3. If you are looking to try Hello Fresh, you can use code HALEYMARO for $40 off your box. We are getting our first box on Monday! Also, free delivery!

4. This video that may or may not show my mom's new pup and his brothers. Get your puppy fix!! My mom's pup is the more "red" of the bunch. He arrives next weekend to my mom.

5. I just watched the movie/documentary, 'Unbranded on Netflix. It is a really cool documentary about 4 recent Texas A&M college grads who helped to train mustangs and ride north from Mexico all the way to Canada. The scenery is beautiful & their antics are hilarious. And if you like cowboys...they're nice to look at too. Sorry B!

6. I have had a lot of fun with Stitch Fix lately. I have a bachelorette coming up & it has been a lot of fun to work with the stylist on what I would like. You can try it here. It costs $20. If you like some of the items in your box, that $20 applies to your purchase. It's free to send back also. I just love it because it's so fun to get a box of clothes in the mail. I think every girl can agree with that.
