Five on Friday!

Thank goodness it's Friday!! I am ready for the weekend to do some exploring with the hubs! Sorry for another list post for the second day in a row but thought I'd jump in on this link up!

[one]

I am SO looking forward to Thanksgiving. We are flying back to do Thanksgiving with my parents & grandparents in the mountains. Seriously y'all, I am craving cold weather and Texas just ain't givin' in. Blowing Rock is going to be fabulous. I will be sure to share pictures once we are back.

[two]

There are SO many baby announcements I feel like. Something is in the water y'all. But I am SO excited for all my friends who are expecting. One of my best friends Lauren isn't finding out the sex...and it's killing me. She is a stronger woman than me. I could never wait that long especially with my first. :)

The Sephora VIB sale started today & runs through 11/16. This sale gives you 20% your total purchase. Is there anything I just HAVE to get? I have a few things on my list. I mainly want to try out some Living Proof products. I hear WONDERFUL things about them. The code is VIB20 and should be entered at checkout.

I haven't started shopping for Christmas. I have no idea what to buy for people. My parents are especially hard to shop for. They don't ever "want" much. I guess that's part of getting older, no offense. I still love to buy sursies for people. I love to give.

I forgot to put this in my Old Navy roundup earlier this week. Not sure how I forgot but I did! This plaid boyfriend flannel pullover is so comfy. I wore it earlier this week working from home. You could also dress it up too. Maybe with a red skirt and some pumps and sparkles? I think so.

Happy Friday Y'all! I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Thursday Truths

So today has been one of those days where I just want to walk away from the computer, sit on the couch, eat junk food, and binge watch Scandal. I mean, I can't be the only one who wants to do these things some days. Can I get an amen?

I thought I would put out some "truths" if you will so my readers (if I have any) get to know me a bit more in depth. These are random. One is not more important than the other. Some are funny & some have a bit more thought to them. Just a fun way to see the "real" side of a person behind the post I think.

{1}
I originally titled this post Wednesday Wishes. Y'all, I legit thought it was Wednesday. I think working from home and not getting all ready for the office anymore has just made me not really think about what day it is.

{2}
I have a problem. It's called sweets. I have 0 self control. And sometimes...I just don't care.

{3}
I read a lot of blogs. But to be honest...do y'all think they are all starting to look & sound the same? I hate to say it but almost every blog I read is now always talking about clothes/makeup/hair/etc and has zero content on real life. I understand that it is some people's jobs. And that's cool. But not everybody is perfect like they portray. I get way more out of people who can just let their hair down and have real talk. It's just refreshing. And besides that, fashion bloggers make me want to buy all the things. Let's be real...I don't have money to spend like that.

{4}
My husband and I "gave" each other an iPad for our anniversary at the end of October. I think we were the only people in the world who didn't yet have an iPad. Oh well...now we LOVE it. :)

{5}
I think my dog is depressed. We moved from our house with a huge backyard...and now live in an apartment. Gopher LOVED his backyard and chasing squirrels. I hate it for him. If it will ever stop raining here in Austin on the weekends, we can take him out to the lake and trails.

Happy Thursday y'all!

Old Navy Fall Roundup!

Hi Friends. I don't know about y'all but I feel like Old Navy has stepped up their game over the years. This weekend, B was out of town for a funeral, so I hit up Old Navy. Unbeknownst to me, they were having their Veteran's Day Sale. I scored big with lots of cute things. I thought I'd share the wealth with y'all because it's too good not to!!

I paired this plaid dress (which is PRECIOUS on) with tall tan riding boots. However, there are so many ways to wear with tall boots or booties. I can't find my riding boots online since they are old Franco Fortini, but I think these Sam Edelman boots would look awesome too.

Who doesn't love easy swing dresses?? I got this one in Black and "Marin Berry."

I bought this in a large mainly because I wanted this to be roomy. The medium fit but it wasn't as roomy/comfy as I wanted. Like on the model, this would look cute with slip on's for a sportier look. It can easily be dressed up too, I think.

Love the pocket on this top. Color is "Pink Elephant."

And last but not least...leggings!
You can never have too many! got these in polka dot in the picture below and then black!

Old Navy has their Veteran's Day Sale still going on today so be sure to jump on over and check out the goods. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Happy Monday, y'all!

Haley

That time we moved to Texas...

Hi Friends!! Sorry I have been quiet on the blog. Let's jump right into it shall we?

For about the past 2 months, Brian and I have been preparing ourselves to list our home, pack up our house, and move 1100 miles away to Austin, TX. It has been crazy, exciting, and scary. If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw my announcement but here is the blog official, if you will.

I won't lie -- I cried...like the kind of crying that makes me you have to catch your breath. Yes folks. I was scared to death. I am horrible about "what if-ing" EVERY SITUATION that requires a major decision.

I was mainly concerned about selling our house. That is still a work in progress but I'm OK with it. It was interesting; the day after I had my breakdown (call it what you will...just owning it folks.) was a Sunday. We were in our last Sunday school class at church. And what do you know? The lesson was on fear. I laughed to myself and looked right at Brian and was like "Got it." The Lord just laid it right on me in that lesson. And I have been OK ever since. Funny how His plan is so much better huh?

We have only had two weekends really. Both of which have been downpours. First thing I do in a new place, check out the food. Lord, help my waistline. We did check out Torchy's Tacos on Saturday and it was fabulous. We went to the food truck, but they have several restaurants around Austin.

The Democrat & The Baja Shrimp tacos with a side of street corn!

I hope to keep y'all up to date on our adventures here. Please leave me a message if there are any hidden gems that you know about near or around Austin.

xoxo,
Haley
