Welcome to the Space Jam...

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! I know I did.

Friday night I drove to G-Vegas to spend the weekend with Brian. We had a date night in on Friday night. He ordered pizza, and we drank wine and watched Hangover II... for all of 20 minutes because I fell asleep. Oops!

On Saturday, we slept in and went to Cracker Barrel for brunch. I hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in I don't know how long. We had to wait a little bit, but it was delicious. We went to the mall afterwards. Brian was such a trooper. I think I drug him into every single store, literally. I was looking for a cute top to wear out that night and found nothing. I think it's because it's kind of in between seasons.

That night another couple came over and we had cocktails and then headed out to dinner, a hockey game, and going out downtown for a little bit. We had such a blast. Tommy and Kristin are SO much fun. They are very outgoing and are always down for anything. We are actually planning a mountain weekend with them and one other couple for the end of February. I am SO looking forward to this trip.

We made it home late, and Brian and I made the executive decision to make a Waffle House run. Oh. My. Word. Is there anything better at 2AM? I don't ever make it out that late, but you have to pull out all the stops when you do right? People might think I'm crazy, but I LOVE Waffle House. They have THE best hash browns and waffles, duh. I'm crazy; I know.

Earlier that day, Brian and I were talking about weddings and first dances. I asked him what would be a song he would like to dance to. Keep in mind, Brian is a HUGE basketball fan and is a jokester. He told me he wanted to dance to the theme song from Space Jam. If y'all don't know the song, it's by Quad City DJ's.

So this entire weekend, he has been singing this song. Needless to say, I have been singing it in my head the entire weekend too. Thank you Brian for getting it stuck there. God love 'em.

This morning we definitely slept in. We went to brunch at The Velo Fellow in the West End of downtown Greenville. It was awesome. I could have eaten there tonight if I didn't have to come back to CHS. Oh well. If y'all are ever in Greenville, check it out. The inside is very eclectic. All the tables and chairs are different and aged. Love it. I had the Oscar sandwich. Brian had the eggs benedict...they tasted awesome.

I unfortunately had to drive back to CHS today. Don't get me wrong. CHS is WONDERFUL. But when you are 3.5 hrs away from your significant other, it is not a fun drive to make alone. It is very hard leaving him every time. It actually gets harder and harder each time. I am being patient though. I know there is a plan for everything. And I just have to remember it's not my plan...

I hope y'all have a wonderful week.
xoxo,
H

I love Waffle House hashbrowns! It's actually the only place where I will eat them. It's strange thinking that I might not have the luxury of scattered smothered and covered browns in a few months. I'm glad you had a wonderful weekend!

I'm glad you had a good weekend. I got a good laugh out of his request for Space Jam, haha! I think Waffle House at 2am is A-Okay occasionally, or I like to claim it is(:

Sounds like a great weekend with your boy! I'm with you on the "Space Jam" first dance though, maybe you could compromise and enter the reception with that song instead? Xo -Bo
