Brian

Can I just brag? Just for a minute? Just for a couple paragraphs? I think I have the best boyfriend in the entire world. Brian has been everything and more to me ever since we met. He understands me completely and accepts me the way I am no matter what. This weekend I ventured to Columbia, as promised, to visit him. His one and only Friday class got cancelled so I drove up Thursday afternoon for an extra long weekend. Thursday, he cooked lasagna and garlic bread (it is my favorite) with some Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir! YUM! We just relaxed and watched movies. A wonderful night none the less. Friday we relaxed some more. Is it evident that we just LOVE to relax? Who cares? We went out for a little while that night and had a blast. Just the two of us. Later that night, I started feeling bad on top of my cough that I had had for 2 weeks already. I got all upset because it was something that scared me and I didn't want to happen again. Yes. I cried. And of course, Brian was there for me, wiping my tears & holding me until I stopped crying. And of course I started feeling bad on Saturday night again. So what did I do? I cried some more on the couch with my plate of left-overs sitting in my lap. Am I a mess? Totally. But thank goodness for Brian. He is always there. Always willing to listen. We decided that it was best to stay in on Saturday night and not head to a friend's. I crashed later that night and slept like a baby. And then this morning we went to church together for the first time. Yes, the first time in almost 8 months together. I know what you are thinking. Why haven't you been going to church all along? Well, to be honest, I don't know. He goes to Mass when he is home in Aiken. And I have been wanting to get back into the routine of going to church each Sunday. We went to a small Catholic church in Columbia. It was nice. I am a Baptist. I know NOTHING about Catholicism. But, I took it in stride and enjoyed our first time together at church. I'm hoping each time we are together that we will be sure to go to church on Sundays. As of right now, I'm feeling much better than earlier this weekend. Thank you Lord. I'm thinking about calling my Dr. this week just to be on the safe side. Call me a hypochondriac... I'm not taking my chances.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that they start their weeks out on the right foot.

Mole Killer(s)

This morning I woke up to go down and check on the dogs as I always do downstairs. But this morning was a bit different. The dogs were outside, like normal after they get fed in the mornings, and were sunning themselves in the grass. But what catches my eye but a trench. Yes, a trench. I called my dad to make sure that he hadn't been digging in the backyard this morning and he said no. So who else could it be that dug the 12ft+ long trench in our backyard, but my very own Lily and Legend. Lily has this incredible smelling sense and picks up ANYTHING under the ground...so that's what they were after... a mole. Can I blame them? No! That's what dogs do and I have not a doubt in my mind that they were talking to themselves saying, "Hurry! We got to get this yard terrorist! Mom would want us to get him." Little did they know. Bless their hearts! I leave you with a picture of one of the culprits--his sister chose not to pose for the camera.

Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

It's not a silly little moment,
It's not the storm before the calm.
This is the deep and dying breath of
This love that we've been working on.

Can't seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms.
Nobody's gonna come and save you,
We pulled too many false alarms.

We're going down,
And you can see it too.
We're going down,
And you know that we're doomed.
My dear,
We're slow dancing in a burning room.

I was the one you always dreamed of,
You were the one I tried to draw.
How dare you say it's nothing to me?
Baby, you're the only light I ever saw.

I'll make the most of all the sadness,
You'll be a bitch because you can.
You try to hit me just to hurt me
So you leave me feeling dirty
Because you can't understand.

We're going down,
And you can see it too.
We're going down,
And you know that we're doomed.
My dear,
We're slow dancing in a burning room.

Go cry about it - why don't you?
Go cry about it - why don't you?
Go cry about it - why don't you?

My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room,
Burning room,
Burning room,
Burning room,
Burning room.

Don't you think we oughta know by now?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we oughta know by now?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we oughta know by now?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?
Don't you think we shoulda learned somehow?

I wish money grew on trees.

I wish money grew on trees... seriously. I am STILL waiting to get my second interview with RSFH. I contacted the lady via email, and she informed me that she was still finishing up with the FIRST ROUND of interviews. Let me inform you: I interviewed over 2 weeks ago. By the end of this week, it will be 3 weeks. Hopefully I will have a date and time for my second interview for NEXT week. I do NOT like waiting. Just go ahead and hire me. Geez! And since I have nothing to do, I sit at home and think about shopping. I need to shop. It's bad. I have this horrible horrible urge to go spend money that I do NOT have. However, I do have bills that need to be paid. "Growing up" isn't the greatest I will be the first to tell you. Looking for a job and waiting and hoping to get hired is AWFUL! We should just magically be handed our dream job the day after we graduate college. Right? Why not? Then it would work for everyone. Everyone would be happy. But this isn't a perfect world, and things do not happen that way much to my dismay. Oh well. I'll keep praying, hoping, crossing my fingers & toes that I hurry up and get this job. In the mean time, I'll window shop online and dream of all the cute clothes I might could have if I had a job & an income. Give me strength Lord, give me strength. Here are a couple cute things I have found recently.
Anthropologie of course...
And cute boots from Old Navy. I have wanted a pair like this for a while. BUT, I'm resisting the urge and watching my money. Every penny counts these days... especially when you don't have a J-O-B.
