Five on Friday: Randoms!

I don't know why but Wednesday and Thursday felt like they should have been Fridays. And thank the good Lord that it's finally here! The weekend weather is shaping up to be really pretty & I am so excited for weekends with my hubs. We are always exploring & when the weather is beautiful....there is no sitting around inside. Well, maybe for just a little bit since it is Masters weekend. We always watch on Sundays (like every 12 other billion people do). I love good reactions to a win at the Masters because it can make the most grown man boohoo like a baby a la Bubba Watson in 2012. THE BEST. Anyways, I've got just some random thoughts for y'all today. Bear with me.

I had to laugh at myself and wonder what the Amazon shipment packers thought of me. I had ordered some Nespresso pods, this all natural charcoal teeth whitener (more on that later!) & some rescue remedy (for my dog). I probably looked like a total psycho. The Nespresso pods and the teeth whitener came in the same box...how ironic? I am still loving our Nespresso and it has kept me from going to Starbucks. Honestly, I like my at home lattes a lot more.

I have recently come to the conclusion that not all people will reciprocate the effort or thoughtfulness you put into something. B (my husband) is my sounding board. I can go off on a rant about it and question everything and just be straight pissed to be frank. He always comes back with the truth but in a calm manner. He is complete opposite of me and for that I am SO grateful. The man keeps this crazy over the top lady somewhat grounded. End rant!

I have recently been on a Clinique kick. Maybe because it's the first set of makeup when you walk through the doors at my Ulta. Touché Clinique! I picked up a couple things yesterday. I also picked up a Stila blush that is a liquid. It is SO beautiful and gives a slight dewy look. I'm obsessed. I got the color, "Rosewater."

If you want to see something funny, I did a 5 minute makeup challenge over on the blog that my bffs' and I blog at. It was my first YouTube video. #JudgementFreeZone

I had to share this sweet picture of my Gopher. He was sitting out on the balcony just sniffing and listening to the birds this morning. It was so cute. #crazydogmom

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Current Make Up Rotation

Y'all, I have a problem. It's called buying too much makeup. Nothing gives me all the feels like walking out of Sephora with a back full of beauty goodies!! However, I am always reaching for the same things out of my bag...like I said...it's a problem. HA! #sorryhusband

Below are some of my current favorites that are in my makeup bag and that I reach for often.

What are some of y'alls favorites?? I am always looking for something new!!

Oh hey there!

Well it's only been over 6 months since I have written. OOPS! Y'all, work, travel, church, Junior League, friends, husband, pup, volunteer work -- it has all taken over. And that's called LIFE folks!! But I am going to try to be much better. Anyways, I wanted to share with y'all quickly the most amazing make up primer EVER that was just introduced to me.

I was in Sephora last Friday to run in and get some more Bare Minerals powder & was speaking with the lady about how oily my skin is. Recently is has gone into OVER LOAD oil production (don't ask me why!) and my make up practically has been sliding off my face by 10:30 AM. Y'all, it ain't pretty! I don't wear a TON of make up to work anyways, just enough so I don't scare people. Well, the sweet lady at Sephora asked if I had ever used the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. I hadn't and she told me it was "super matte." She offered me a sample, and I have been using it since last Friday. Y'all, it. is. AMAZING. I just finished up my sample this morning and am going to get myself to the mall to buy the full thing ASAP.

 You can buy it here.

My make up stays and doesn't run & looks great for the whole work day. This has NEVER happened for me. If you have super oily skin like me, give it a shot. The girls at Sephora can always give you a sample to try before you buy the real deal. I can't wait to test out other Becca products to see how they hold up!

Have a great Tuesday!!

xoxo,
Haley

Let's talk stippling!

Do y'all know what "stippling" is? Because I can guarantee y'all, I didn't know and definitely had to Google it and Youtube it. I had heard about stippling brushes and how they were awesome for applying your makeup to get that dewey/airbrushed look. Well y'all, every thing I started to find said "take your brush and move it in a stippling motion." HELLO!? I don't even know what a stipple is. Can you show me?! That's when I turned to trusty ole' YouTube for the win. Shasta Anne helped me figure out this whole "stippling" thing. Thanks lady!

After seeing how to use the brush, I was hooked. I happened to run into Target for some miscellaneous things, and promised my husband I wouldn't peruse around while he waited in the car. (There's a good reason they named it Target because it sucks. you. in. I swear I could LIVE there.) Well I stumbled walked by the make up section & boom! There it was. A stippling brush by E.L.F.  for a whopping $3 dollhairs. Sold. No if's, and's or but's about it. I snapped up the Small Stippling Brush and didn't look back. Mainly because I knew if I took any longer my husband would know that I was "perusing." Below you can see a picture. It is a combo of short & longer brush hairs.

I went home and used it the next morning before work with my concealer/blush. It was fabulous, and I definitely noticed a difference in the way my makeup went on and appeared after I was done. I LOVE IT. I am hoping to snag the larger stippling brush so I can use for my foundation/powder. Coming from a girl who really has no idea what she's doing with makeup, it's easy to use and play around with.

E.L.F. (Eyes. Lips. Face.) is a great way to try out new things, especially brushes, if you A. Don't know what you are doing & B. Don't want to spend a lot of money at first. You can't beat $3 for a makeup brush!! You can shop all their goodies here or check out your local Target.

This is not a sponsored post. E.L.F. has no idea who I am.

Happy stippling y'all!

H
