Five on Friday: New Beauty Buys!

Happy Friday everyone!! Sorry it's been a bit quiet this week. It's been a bit hectic with work life and personal life & honestly, I have had some writer's block. But, I'm here today so that's what matters!!

I thought I'd share some new beauty purchases with you. I had gotten really annoyed with my current foundation and was looking for something new. Well you know what happens when you go in to Ulta or Sephora for, you know, ONE THING...yeahhhhh. Just like Target, y'all. Sucks me in, I black out, and walk out of the store $100 lighter in my wallet. Oops! I digress. Let's get started!

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer
I had actually never worn Clinique foundation but heard good things from a friend of mine who loves make up as much as I do. I loved the idea that it was foundation + concealer. It is a good size bottle and has a wand with applicator on the end. I just dot it around my face and then blend in. I really liked it and it gave good coverage. It has over 20 shades to choose from so everyone should be covered. I currently wear shade "Linen."

It! Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream
This was also recommended to me. I really love it for days where I don't really want to wear foundation, but want to look put together. This also has 50 SPF in it. For me, this is PERFECT for throwing on and walking out to the pool this summer. It comes in a tube with a pump. I am not sure how effective that will be once it gets close to empty but we'll see. One other thing I do not like about it, is the perfume smell. I think it could do with out. It doesn't linger once it's on your face and has set for a bit. I would still repurchase despite those two little things. I am currently wearing shade 'Light.'

Benefit's POREfessional
This is actually not a new product for me. I used it a long time ago and never repurchased. I really like it. It kind of has a waxy feel but does spread beautifully on the skin. It can be worn under your makeup or over the top. I have only ever tried it under my foundation but I may see how it looks or if it's more effective to do the opposite way.

Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Balm
Can you tell I was hanging around the Clinique area at Ulta? Well I have 3 of these colors now and really love them. They go on so well & are SO moisturizing. I have Curvy Candy, Pudgy Peony, and then one from their 'Intense' line which is Plushest Punch. It might be my favorite. One thing I really like is that they do give your lips a little stain so as they wear off, you still have some color remaining. These go on like butter. I have my eye on some more colors too.

Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil
I have been using the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo for over a year now and really like it. However, I wanted to try out an eye brow pencil. I get my brows done at Ulta and asked the girl to recommend an eye pencil. She suggested this one and I really do like it. It has the twist up pencil on one end & then the spooly on the other. It is taking some getting used to just because I have never used a pencil and I don't really like to be heavy handed with my brows. I like a natural yet defined brow. I definitely use these together and think they work well in combo.

I did link up all the products below in the widget if you wish to shop them. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I want to try out that CC cream. I loved Clinique foundation back in college but I have yet to try that one out. It looks like I might need to make a trip to the mall. Jess at Just Jess
