Well, I am now home for a week before I travel to Spain. SPAIN! Can you believe it?! I'm going to Spain. It still hasn't hit me yet and probably won't until I hop onto that plane. Geez. I'm super excited yet nervous! I will be there for a month. I'm definitely stepping out of my comfort zone because I'm usually too afraid of what I will miss out on back here to try anything new. But, I'm going through with it! And I just know I'm going to have a blast. I will definitely be using this blog to inform you guys of what's going on while I'm over there. I hope you guys will keep up with the stories, rants and raves that I choose to blog about! This week leading up to me leaving is going to be crazy and hectic! Pray that I pack everything I need and don't forget the important things and that my flight goes safely. I'm not keen on the idea of flying over the ocean. Eek!! Until then, ¡ciao!

Busy life...
Hello all!! It has been a while since I have blogged. I have been horrible at keeping up with this thing. Oops! So much has been going on since I posted last. I finished with school and finals; which I was thoroughly pleased with my grades. After taking my last exam, I went to Mississippi/Louisiana! What a trip!! I traveled with 2 of my guy friends, Zach and Chris. We drove down on a Thursday and arrived early Friday morning... 3:30 in the morning early! But, it was a blast getting down there. These two boys have great senses of humor and kept me laughing so much. We stayed with Zach's mom in Gulfport, Mississippi right on the beach. It was beautiful. We ate at GREAT places, went to the Beau Rivage (a casino) and did a little gambling, went to New Orleans for Jazz Fest and got to see Cowboy Mouth, Kings of Leon, and lots of good jazz bands. It was very hot but the atmosphere and company made it so fun!! Since New Orleans is only 40 minutes from Gulfport, we went back to downtown New Orleans and played tourist on Bourbon Street and Jackson Square! It was so much fun. I loved the area, the art, all the people, and the food ... AMAZING! Here are a few pictures just to show you how much fun we had!

Patience.
I have found myself to be very impatient lately. A lot more than usual. I'm not sure what it is, but something has just not been right. This weekend was not a good weekend for me on the account of I was snappy and just in an angry mood. I feel like this weekend was just a bit of a disaster. I need to regroup and focus on what's most important with life. I have found some Bible verses to be helpful in my time of impatience that I'll share with you.
Psalm 37:7-9
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.
Romans 8:24-25
We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)
Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
—Ephesians 4:26-27, 31-32

Here comes Peter Cottontail...

It's that time of year again. Spring has sprung! Well, maybe... only the days where it isn't 50 degrees. Anyhow, we all know it's here. Our cars are covered in a yellow dusting: POLLEN! Ugh. I have already washed my car I don't know how many times already. And the BUGS! Oh the bugs. I can't drive anywhere without bug guts splattered across the windshield of Blue Beauty. Anyways, Easter weekend is upon us. And I am so very excited. It is so wonderful to be home in Charleston to enjoy this beautiful weather and spring time beauty. Sunday we will be going to my Grandmomma's [paternal side]. Most of my cousins and aunts/uncles will be there with plenty of food of course. This is one of my favorite times of the year. I just want to stay outside...all day.
As many of you know, I am quite the animal lover. I have ALWAYS been this way. We have always had pets--dogs...with the exception of one cat, Mikey. My mom has recently taken on another lab. Her name is BG, and she is a chocolate babe. We got her from Lowcountry Lab Rescue. [it's under my favorites! check it out!] She was a backyard breeding dog; and kept in a crate the majority of her life. She is the sweetest thing. She loves attention and likes to be with "her people." She is more well-behaved than our other 2 yahoos. But we love them all just the same. BG is bigger than our other 2, but they all fit together PERFECTLY. We couldn't be happier.
