Friday night we stayed in and cooked pizza on the Big Green Egg. It has become one of our favorite things to cook since we get to pick and choose what toppings we want, etc. It was DELICIOUS as always.
Saturday we spent the first half of the day in the backyard planting azaleas and hydrangeas. Our back beds needed some work. They are all clay so Brian had the duty of digging the holes and I filled with garden soil and planted. We also laid down weed cloth (I know that's not right, but that's what I call it) to keep the weeds from coming up and to make everything look nice and neat before we added mulch. It was a lot of work but I am so much happier with it. It beats that nasty red clay.
We rested and went out for date night at Roost that night and had a great dinner and of course dessert: fried apple pocket with cinnamon & a scoop of maple bacon ice cream. It really needed 2 scoops. You can't skimp on ice cream, y'all. Doesn't it look great? We walked around downtown Greenville afterwards. It was so pretty out, and we needed to walk off all that food.
I saw this cute sign too outside The Chocolate Moose. Their sister store is Cupcake in Mt. Pleasant.
Le duh.
And then to finish off the weekend, Mr. Gopher enjoyed my hydrangeas...as long as he doesn't knock off blooms...I'm okay with it. Those things are DELICATE, y'all.
We are off to Charleston this weekend to see friends, run the Floppin' Flounder 5K, and celebrate Father's Day early with my Dad.
Hope y'all have a fabulous week!
xoxo,
H

Your flowers look so pretty! Well worth the hard work!
Looks like a productive weekend, we have plans to do a lot of yard work this weekend, I hate doing it but always love the way it looks when it is done.
